Update 5 includes revised DES templates that should allow far faster DES calculations.
Tests performed at TotalSim have typically shown that these revised templates achieve a speed up of between x2 to x5 depending on the vehicle.
The methods are different from the standard DES approach in that the time step is fixed rather than based upon Courant Number. The models are now able to solve with Courant numbers far higher than the maxCo=5 that was recommended previously.
TotalSim have been testing that the new templates give a very similar result to those previously generated. Results of some of these tests should be released in the next few weeks. Please contact your local Support Representative for further details.
