TotalSim will take your STAR-CCM+ (or Fluent) format file and convert it into a file ready for their software release based around OpenFOAM®. This includes a number of tools to extract different fluid regions for porous fluid zones / rotating reference frame fluid zones etc and then improve the stability on the CCM+ generated mesh. We have successfully used this on both polyhedral meshes and trimmed type meshes so far.
Once solved on TotalSim’s in-house clusters we will provide you with postprocessing plots and animations, solution data in the form of EnSight / Fieldview / Paraview format and any data required for the benchmark. This hopefully allows for a straight comparison between the two solvers using identical meshes.
So far our customers have been impressed with the comparison, with OpenFOAM® offering huge cost savings, greater flexibility and even potentially improvements in speed.
At the moment the process has been automated for incompressible single phase simulations, but we are happy to discuss all your requirements.
