TotalSim would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a very happy Easter and update you on things at TotalSim.
TotalSim have continued their recruitment into 2014 with a few new faces. Koen Van Mierlo has joined us from Southampton Uni. He is just wrapping up his PhD in Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) and aeroacoustic modelling of aircraft landing gear. He should be a great addition to the team in Brackley.
We also have Richard who has joined as a graduate from Loughborough University with a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering. Finally, we have 3 students working with us with either internships or thesis projects.
Sadly we have two faces that are returning back to Academia. Flo is going back to uni to do a Masters and Dan who is returning to Southampton to finish his PhD thesis. Hopefully they will both be returning when their studies have been completed.
Trade Shows and Conferences
TotalSim have signed up for more trade shows and conferences than ever before. In April we will be attending two shows covering a wide range of applications.
The Engineering Simulation Show | 23rd April | Derby
TotalSim will have a large presence showcasing our CFD Hardware, CFD Support and CFD Consultancy services. We may throw in our scanning too just for good measure! It’s a new show and should be really interesting, we hope to see you there.
Multimodal Show | 29th April-1st May | NEC
Multimodal is one of the largest transport and logistics shows in the world. TotalSim will be there demonstrating our scanning services and aerodynamics consultancy. We’ve been working on a fairing for a truck and trailer combination, which went straight from scan to CFD, with drag reductions of 25%.
IMechE Vehicle Aerodynamics Conference
Finally TotalSim have had a paper accepted for the IMechE Aero Conference, where we presenting sliding and rotating meshes within OpenFOAM**.
Aero Map Offer
The total cost for this package is £15,000.

TS Code Release
We are in the home straight for our latest code release.
We’re hoping to have it released to all our support customers by the end of next week. Apologies for the slightly delayed release but we wanted to make sure the bugs were ironed out before releasing.
More details to follow shortly…
TotalSim have also been working on our thermal modelling capabilities. We now have a multi region conjugate heat transfer model with radiation. We are working towards a full thermal model release.
A reminder that TotalSim are now offering their CFD Hardware recipe for sale. A rack mounted, scalable CFD Hardware solution. The solution is unique and bespoke, offering a cost effective and fast solution, which is used throughout our own consultancy business.
