HPC Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an expanding company in a role that will involve learning to maintain, develop and improve our IT systems.

In this job you will be…

  • Working as part of a team to deliver a level of service that meets our customers’ needs and expectations.
  • Learning on the job through shadowing & independent tasks
  • Helping to maintain the functionality of the computer systems on a day-to-day basis
  • Providing hands-on support to users experiencing technical issues
  • Assist in the purchasing, building (hardware & software) of users workstations and HPC clusters.
  • Configure and maintain the queuing system for jobs scheduling to clusters.
  • Install software and licenses and set up and maintain email accounts for users.

  • Someone who is hardworking with good communication and IT skills
  • Someone with the desire to learn and develop themselves
  • Someone with ideally 7/8 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and IT at Grade B and above.
  • A-Level qualifications or equivalent would be advantageous, but not essential.

Design Engineer Aerospace

This is a new appointment resulting from recent CFD research into a radically new ultra high-speed, high efficiency aero/marine vehicle for intercontinental freight transportation.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the construction of a Proof of Concept (POC) vehicle based on existing CFD runs.

The bulk of the POC will be 3D printed in steel and carbon fibre on a large in-house 3D printer with a build size of 7m x 2.5m x 2m.

Components will be drawn up and optimised for strength, weight and stiffness in Fusion 360 or similar.  Generative design will be used to minimize weight.

The POC will be constructed in Brackley.  The POC will be autonomous with stability and control based on existing CFD runs.  A triple redundant computer will control all functions.

An aeronautical degree would be desirable but the ability to create successful innovative designs is more important.  Practical experience in the workings of machinery is also important.

This is a permanent position with a long established company and provides the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a major new industry.
