In those early days, innovation of this kind was relatively young, so there were big gains to be made.”
“In the Beijing cycle, Boardman had worked closely with Scott Drawer, the head of research and innovation at UK Sport, and they had recruited to the Secret Squirrels an engineer called Rob Lewis, whose speciality was design using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). In the London cycle, Lewis would become central to the project.“
